The Story of Rashid Ali who suffers a troublesome disease

Khpal Kor Foundation is a well know trust where so many orphans are living. They are provided with free accommodation, free education and all other facilities. Rashid Ali class 3 is one of the beneficiaries of Khpal Kor Foundation who lives with his other two broths, Rahmat Ali and Azmat Ali. All the three brothers belong to District Shangla. After the sad demise of their father they along with their mother migrated to Baidara District: Swat. They started living with their grandmother who a poor widower was living in a part of the cattle house. Unfortunately, soon afterwards, the mother of the children also died of heat failure. The grandmother was unable to look after the children. Therefore, six years ago, she got them admitted in Khpal Kor educational, lodging and boarding institution working under the umbrella of Khpal Kor Foundation. The tow brothers of Rashid Ali were intelligent and physically fit but he was suffering from chest infection. After admission Rashid Ali was treated for one year and became able to be a student of calls nursery. In the beginning he as quite dull and slow in picking but gradually he improved and reached to calls 3. He obtained 64% marks in the last terminal examination.

Everything was getting normal but few months back, all of a sudden Rashid Ali lost the ability to sit. Various technique were being tried to make him able to sit but all in vain. Now he can only stand or lay flat. After giving him enough treatment in Swat he was later on, taken to a nerve surgeon in Peshawar. The surgeon diagnosed his ailment as F.M decompremision and advised brain surgery for his treatment. He also demanded a huge amount as fee for surgery. The surgeon also told that after brain surgery he will be referred to Lahore General Hospital for scoliosis or back surgery.

Khpal Kor Foundation consulted its doctors and Rashid Ali was sent to Lahore General Hospital for both surgeries. Rashid Ali remained there for 15 days but he was paid no attention by the hospital administration. Meanwhile the heath condition of Rashid Ali deteriorated further and Khpal Kor Foundation had to consult the Nero surgeon of Lahore General Hospital in his private clinic. But the surgeon demanded for a huger amount than that was demanded by the doctors of Peshawar. Ultimately. The child was brought back to Peshawar and was operated in private hospital. But the operation was not successful and the child is still suffering the same problem. He is almost handicapped. He can’t take a sitting position. Either he stands tall or lay town. He also feels trouble in walking. Now Khpal Kor Foundation intends to take him to Lahore for back surgery which many cost Lacs of money. In case of operation the doctor predicts 60% chances regarding his ability to sit.

The administration of Khpal Kor Foundation is really worried about the future of the child. It is sorrowful that all his class fellows appeared in their annual examination but he could not attempt due to his illness.

Today, as other student of the school are leaving homes to spend holidays with their kith and kins, Rashid Ali is reluctant to go to his grandmother’s home because she loses temper and cannot afford to take care of an ill child.

Yet, the administration of Khpal Kor is bold courageous and steadfast in its mission. Its moral is sky high. It will never leave the child alone. It is determined to spend on the treatment of the child as much as possible. Even it is thinking to arrange a special attendant to the child to support him in his movements.
